Worship with the Temple Community
Sabbath worship services are held every Friday evening and most Saturday mornings when there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah or other special occassion, led by Rabbi Peter Hyman. Cantor Patrice Kaplan is accompanied by our organist, Cindy Harrington, adding depth to the musical portions of each service. During July and August, our trained lay persons, the Para-Rabbis and Para-Cantors, lead our Shabbat worship services.
On the first Friday of each month, a Shabbat pot-luck dinner begins at 6:15 p.m. We say the blessings and start eating at 6:30pm- followed by services at 7:45 p.m. Call Emily Freedman (610-449-2894) to register and to find out what kind of food is needed. There will be a preschool service at 5:45pm.
The Youth Choirs perform at all Shabbat Services on the first Friday of months September - June.
The evening service on the third Friday of each month is enriched by the performance of our adult choir. Other Friday evenings may bring a special speaker, a discussion of Torah, or a service dedicated to and led by one of the Temple’s auxiliary groups. An Oneg Shabbat follows every Friday evening service.
Saturday morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony occurs during this time, and all congregation members are invited to share in this simcha with the student and his or her family.
All major holidays are observed; dates and times of special services are announced on this website (see calender of events) and the Temple Tidings (print version).
