Worship with the Temple Community
Shabbat worship services are held every Friday evening and most Saturday mornings, when there is a Bar or Bat Mitzvah or another special occasion. Services are led by Rabbi Peter Rigler and Cantor Patrice Kaplan, accompanied by our organist, Cindy Harrington, which adds depth to the musical portions of each service. The Shabbat Evening Service is held at 8:00 PM on the first, third and fourth Friday evenings of the month.
During July and August, our trained lay persons, the Para-Rabbis and Para-Cantors, lead our Shabbat worship services.
An Oneg Shabbat follows every Friday evening Shabbat service.
SECOND FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH
Tot Shabbat for preschoolers and their families begins at 6:00 PM.
A Shabbat Potluck dinner follows at 6:30 PM. We recite the blessings on the candles, wine and challah and begin eating at 6:35 PM. Please contact Jen Isayev at isayev@live.net to be added to the evite list.
You may register online if you plan to attend and to find out what kind of food is needed.
The congregational Family Shabbat Evening Service begins at 7:30 PM.
Kol Sholom, our Youth Choir, performs during the Family services.
THIRD FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH
The evening service on the third Friday of each month is enriched by the performance of our Adult Choir. Other Friday evenings may include a special speaker, a Torah discussion, or a service dedicated to and led by one of the Temple’s auxiliary groups.
SHABBAT MORNING SERVICE
Saturday morning worship begins at 10:30 AM during the weeks when one of our young persons becomes a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Anyone interested in participating in Shabbat morning worship is invited to share in this simcha with the student and his or her family. Currently b'nai mitzvah ceremonies are held from September through June, and Shabbat morning services are not scheduled during July and August.
HOLIDAY SERVICES
All major holidays are observed; dates and times of special services are announced on this website (see calendar of events) and the Temple Tidings (print version and on the website).
