Dear Families,

Ba Lishmah! Come and Learn! For generations Jews all around the world have placed a drop of honey on the corner of the page of a new book at the beginning of the school year.  This custom reminds us of how sweet learning can be.  All of us at Temple Shlolom are looking forward to the coming school year for all learners who enter our doors.

We invite your family to experience a different kind of Religious School -- one that is filled with warmth, support, and love - a school that knows every child by name and cares about the individual child. Our clergy and faculty work to engage each child and his or her family and make sure that they find their place within our Temple Sholom family.

We provide opportunities for students to make new friends, learn about their Judaism, feel a connectedness to the Jewish people, and love learning. Through engaging, hands-on lessons our students not only learn about Judaism, they experience it! Learning and friendship is not for our students alone. Parents are invited to socialize during school hours, learn alongside their child, and engage in adult learning. However a parent wants to be involved, we provide multiples entryways and opportunities.

Our facilities lend themselves to classroom learning, small-group learning, school- wide extravaganzas and celebrations, and both indoor and outdoor learning. Our mobile computer lab encourages students to expand beyond the classroom walls and explore their Jewish world through the internet, web quests, and more. Students are given the opportunity to "create" through blogs, podcasts, and interactive presentations.

Many students end their Jewish education after B'nai Mitzvah -- but at Temple Sholom our students can't wait to enter our high school ACADEMY program. Designed in collaboration with our students T.S. ACADEMY offers a multitude of learning opportunities both formal and informal. Our students lead busy lives and we offer opportunities for them to learn both in the "traditional" format and creative and "non-traditional" ways.

b’shalom,

Lori Green
