Our Mission
It is the mission of the Preschool at Temple Sholom, a Reform congregation, to provide a strong foundation in both Jewish and secular early childhood education in a safe, nurturing environment where children are free to grow and develop.
Our Program
Temple Sholom Preschool offers your child small classes in a stimulating and loving environment. We believe that children learn best in an integrated setting that includes art, music and movement to teach subject matter. Each child is valued as an individual and it is our goal to meet and challenge his/her specific needs.

Curriculum
We offer a high quality, developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory curriculum. Experiences are provided in shared reading, discussions, circle time, block building, music, imaginative play, puzzles, language acquisition, pre-reading skills, cooking, math stations, art, science, social studies kindness, mitzvot and social responsibility.
*Learning activities focus on the pleasure and process of emergent curriculum and discovery as young learners. Themes and units of instruction are initiated both by teacher and student interest. Their length is determined by the enthusiasm of the children in the class.
*Recognizing the importance of forming a positive Jewish identity, we expose children to Jewish culture and tradition. This is done through music, stories, special foods, holiday celebrations, blessings, Friday morning Shabbat services and interaction with Rabbi Hyman and Cantor Kaplan. We incorporate Jewish values into our curriculum throughout the year. Our goal is to nurture in each child a strong identity and love for Judaism.
Inclusion
*Children of all faiths will be welcomed into our school understanding only Jewish and secular American holidays are celebrated.
*Temple Sholom Preschool will attempt to accommodate children with special needs to the best of its ability. As a congregation and preschool, we strive to be as inclusive as possible of preschool children with disabilities who wish to join us as learners. We will work with each family to offer support and community resources on a case by case basis.
*Temple Sholom Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, extending to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school. Temple Sholom Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admission, personnel and all other school policies.
